Over the counter medicines
We stock a comprehensive range of medicines and a selection of toiletries. Our Numark own brand range offers excellent value and we are able to place special orders for items not normally stocked.
We can offer advice on pregnancy, childcare and family planning. We stock nappies, pregnancy testing kits, and contraceptives. Healthy Start vouchers can be exchanged for NHS vitamin tablets and drops.
We are able to measure and fit support stockings and trusses. Ask the Pharmacist or nurses for details.
We can advise on vaccinations and malaria prevention. We are also stockists of insect repellents, holiday medicines, first aid equipment and suncare products.
For those patients with mobility problems we can order from a wide range of specially designed aids. Browse through our catalogue at the Pharmacy or ask a member of staff.
You can ring our Pharmacist or call in to discuss you medical problems confidentially. We are able to refer you to a doctor or nurse when necessary and can often give you information leaflets on healthcare topics.
Patient Medication Records
The Pharmacist keeps a confidential record of prescriptions dispensed to help identify any possible interactions or side-effects. This information is also used by the Surgery Doctors to help with their prescribing.
We can safely dispose of unwanted medicines and used syringe needles via the Pharmacy.
Medicines Use Review
Our new Medicines Use Review service offers patients on long-term medication an opportunity to undertake a formal review of their medicines with an accredited pharmacist.
It will allow our pharmacist to establish a full picture of how you use your medicines – both prescribed and non-prescribed and help us to ensure that you are getting the best possible outcome from your treatment. The review is designed to support you to understand every part of your therapy, identify any problems you may be experiencing and offer mutually agreed solutions.
Each review will last for approximately 20 minutes and will be completed in confidence in our private consultation area.
The service is provided free of charge to eligible patients.
